I was first introduced to Margherita Cardelli and Gerardo Cavaliere when we were thrown together into a big group trip aboard the Belmond Royal Scotsman sleeper train a few years ago. They’re an impossibly striking couple, made all the more striking by the fact that the clothes they wear are often made by their own atelier, Giuliva Heritage. The M Downtown Antiques.
The M Downtown during my most recent visit to the Round Top Antiques Fair. They’re a vintage home retailer that strikes a perfect balance in refurbishment that maintains the old soul of a piece with updated colors and textiles. I left with a great wicker-backed chair with a seat that had been reupholstered with a vibrant duck-patterned fabric. It’s now positioned proudly in my apartment's entryway. themdowntown.com

Holly Lowen Tennis Series Paintings.
The New York Academy of Art’s annual Tribeca Ball kicks off with a cocktail hour in the student artists’ studios, where partygoers like Brooke Shields snap up the student-made works on display. My favorite of the lot this year came from Holly Lowen, whose tennis portraits were inspired by her family’s long-standing love affair with the sport. The Peninsula Paris x Le Mans Porsche Experience.
Peninsula Hotels' Chairman Sir Michael Kadoorie is an avid car collector, and with that comes a veritable buffet of car-related experiences across the Peninsula Hotel properties. Last October I took part in the latest addition to the Peninsula Paris offering, which includes round-trip helicopter transport to Le Mans—the site of the famed yearly 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race—and a full morning of toying around with a suite of zippy Porsches before enjoying a luncheon overlooking the racetrack, complete with butter pads in the shape of the Porsche insignia, bien sûr. peninsula.com

A former Wall Street lunch club turned neighborhood evening hangout, The Down Town Association (or DTA for short) was once the site of boozy dealmaking. Juan Santa Cruz has an illustrious track record of opening the must-dine spots in London, New York, and beyond. His latest idea is called Obvio, or “Obviously,” named after Santa Cruz’s own quippy reply when, for example, a guest orders offmenu or demands a certain type of gin in their martini. Its mirrored bar is nothing short of swanky, and the dining room is swathed in giraffe print from floor to ceiling, making it feel like an alternate world where anything is possible, obviously. obvionyc.com

Wilderness.
Often lauded as “the RollsRoyce of safaris,” I had the great fortune of joining Wilderness on a three-stop tour in Botswana’s Okavango Delta to the Mombo, Jao, and DumaTau camps. During the day, we were paired with expert trackers who unearthed leopards and lions with the littlest of clues, and at night we took in cocktails with a view of elephants and hippos. Castello di Vicarello.
Just nine rooms comprise Castello di Vicarello, located in Tuscany’s Maremma region, making it feel as if you’re staying with a friend who also happens to have great taste. The Berti family, who owns and operates the property, are those friends. Brunello Cucinelli’s Wine, Castello di Solomeo.
Also in Italy, though in slightly more rarified air, is a visit to Solomeo, the idyllic hilltop town that has been reimagined into a home for all things Brunello Cucinelli. Most recently, this includes the release of Castello di Solomeo, a wine distributed exclusively by Fine + Rare, which I had the opportunity to taste alongside Mr. Cucinelli himself. Though he does enjoy a small glass of red wine most days, he limits his consumption of pasta to just six pieces, as he needs to fit into his suits. castellodisolomeo.com

I have an unrelenting love for anything navy blue. When I was given the chance to select an Audemars Piguet timepiece to wear for one fleeting night celebrating the brand’s 150th anniversary in New York, I was set on sporting the new navy ceramic Royal Oak Offshore 42mm.
